Welcome to the new year and a great start we are having on the project. We were able to catch up with our partners in Poland, dr Krzysztof Szczepaniak and Jolanta Mrozek at the Center for Sustainable Development, University of Gdańsk. Together, we have started to organise some really exciting work with several other universities in the Baltic region. It is great to meet so many enthusiastic and engaged people interested in the work to advance sustainability education. Stay tuned for more information about our Baltic adventures coming soon!
We have also made progress in our plans for the symposium in February. We met with Professor Nick McGuigan, Monash university who reached out to us to help provide inspiring activities by using the futuring method. Last summer I was fortunate enough to meet Professor Nick McGuigan at the EAA conference in Helsinki, where we took part in a workshop with a diverse group of international participants. The futuring method was used to inspire transformation in higher education towards a sustainability perspective. We will help to spread this amazing work further by providing the opportunity for participants of the symposium to take part in a mindset shifting event. Seats will be open to everyone else too. I highly recommend that you try to get a spot asap (watch this space).
I hope that everyone had a relaxing break and have manged to transition to the new term well. We like to thank all the students that participated in our project last term and welcome the new students to an exciting and fantastic new term, with new projects, courses and opportunities to be active in transforming towards a sustainability perspective. This week we reflect on some questions: What great new projects are coming up or about to come into fruition? How does it feel for you, and everyone involved when you find the support you all need to get things done? Would you like to join our new Baltic region project (I promise you will like it!)?
Happy New Year!
