As the term comes to an end (here in Sweden), we take time to reflect over the great people we have met this academic year. At the turn of the year, we began to ask you questions based on our dialogue with those we meet for you to reflect further on the website or in your own time. Whether you participated online or thought about these issues in your own context, all the contributions have helped to continue the dialogue further. We have met with some very enthusiastic and engaging people from across Europe that work with higher education and upper secondary schools. Thank you all for such a positive collaboration.
Looking back over the dialogue we have had; the most prominent theme has been how we can help support education for sustainability through the activities we take part in with students. This work has been expanded on our website and will continue to support inspiration for lesson plans as we gain insights from participating lectures and teachers across Europe. Thank you for all your support.
Transforming teaching through experiential activities, art and collaborations has been another inspiring topic. Creating collaborations between departments, different universities and between academia and organisations has been our major drive this year and working with you all to provide these opportunities for the students has been exciting. We will continue this work to provide more online connections to all collaborations. Watch out for new additions to our service pages.
Also, creating space for whole student learning experiences has been on many teacher’s minds. The core of the project is to provide a learning experience for all students to be able to act for a sustainable future. This drive is resonating around many higher education institutions, which signals a great transformation is emerging. We will continue our work to provide support for this goal.
We look forward to our work continuing in the Autumn. New collaborations in England, the Netherlands, Poland and Germany will start off our journey. We will also be meeting with teachers across Sweden throughout the new academic year. So more engaging reflections to come soon and we wish you all a very happy summer.
P.S. Last year I talked about the book I had been advised to read for the summer. This year, I chose a book by a very funny and talented comedian, Fern Brady, called Strong Female Character. The book is a hilarious narrative about the author’s experience with neurodiversity. If neurodiversity in females is something you are interested in learning more about, this is a good place to start. I took a quick peak at the first chapter and then finished the whole book in two sittings. I love writing that keeps you gripped to the end. So now I need a new book. Any suggestions for a new summer read would be greatly appreciated, since my holiday starts tomorrow. We’ll be back soon, enjoy!
