About

Hi Everyone!

I’m a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. My research centres on international finance and macroeconomics, while my pedagogical work explores education for sustainability, mental well-being, and fostering active, lifelong, and self-regulated learning. Before academia, I interned at The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and gained industry experience in finance. I also volunteer as an integrative psychotherapist with mental health charities in the UK.

I am deeply committed to the belief that nurturing mental well-being, especially in young minds, is critical for advancing sustainability. A healthy mindset cultivates the pro-environmental behaviors necessary for sustainable practices—such as responsible resource consumption and minimizing ecological footprints. By fostering mental well-being, we shape future leaders capable of environmental stewardship, empowering them to champion sustainable lifestyles that protect our planet for generations to come.

Guided by values of humility, courage, freedom, dignity, congruence, and candor, I believe that being part of a nurturing community is vital for a fulfilling human experience.

Seeds

1. “UofG Global Challenges Studio” will be part of our transformative Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) initiatives. We will invite students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering a rich exchange of perspectives to co-create the next generation of UofG graduates. These graduates—our “world changers”—will be equipped and intrinsically motivated to drive sustainable and equitable change in society. Through this studio, we aim to create transformative learning experiences that

inspire and empower students to take the lead in regenerative and sustainable initiatives.

2. Sustainability challenge: with Glasgow City Council and Mott MacDonald

3. ‘Business and Sustainability Programme’ between the University of Glasgow and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, to be held in Valencia, Spain.

4. Collaborative undergraduate dissertations with industry, focusing on organizations working on sustainability.

5. Embedding mental well-being into the curriculum: peer support initiatives, psychoeducation in non-health/technical courses, and rethinking assessment and feedback designs for mental wellbeing.

Action 2

Collaborating to create innovative, transformative teaching approaches that emphasize inclusive, quality education, promote lifelong learning, and enhance well-being for all.

Action 3

Building local and global connections to help future generations bridge sustainability education with practical, industry-focused experiences.
