On a slide at the begining of class, while everyone is settling down in their seats, ask the students to think/write three things that thet are grateful for today. You can have this on an interactive live site that is powered by an online service (such as mentimeter.com) or let the students keep the thought for themsleves. It encourages a positive mindset for the coming hours. You can also join in to let everyone know your three favorite things about the day so far and discuss the answers together.

A colaborative approach to adress anxieties and feelings of being alone:
- Write down something that you find troublesome, worrying or a big challenge in regard to the sustainability of our present experiences.
- Walk around the room, introduce yourself and pass your paper to each person you meet
- (this way the papers/challenges get shuffled around anonymously).
- Choose students to read the challenge out loud.
- The paper/challenge is thrown in the bin, to highlight that we are not alone and that a positive mindset will be used to overcome these challenges.
